December 04, 2001

Well, I know it's just a day after my monthly news update but I have great news! Walter Leaphart  (president of SlamJamz records and Chuck D's manager, also co-founder of rapstation.com as well as having a huge presence in the media about the whole music Internet issue) gave me a call today.  He told me they wanted to use my Public Enemy remix on the next Public Enemy album (which is going to be a remix album plus some new Public Enemy material)!! He said he really liked my remix and that I really nailed it. His words were "Though you didn't win, you did win!" I am very excited about this to say the least.  I don't have many details about when the album will be released, but when I do I will post them here. Bye!

December 03, 2001

Hello everyone! Well, some great progress was made this month on Static Space.  The lyrics and vocal melodies are written, and I am pleased with the results.  The live acoustic drums (recorded at 24 bit) and bass are in the mix and they sound amazing.  Right now, the song is just demo vocals, live drums, electronic and live bass.  It's about 3 and a half minutes long and is 110 beats per minute.  This month, I will be heavily producing it to hopefully give it something unique. It's currently written in a basic pop format, but I am going to try to push the limits as much as I can to make it very experimental yet not boring.  Right now I think the finished song will be around 5 minutes with many short instrumentals throughout the song. I have burnt the demo of the song to CD, and will be practicing the vocals for the next few weeks while I produce it.  In the past I have sung my songs with no practice. I just wrote the lyrics and melodies, and  recorded it as I sung it for the first time.  I think the previous songs suffered from this, so hopefully a few weeks of practice will improve the vocals.  So, I will be producing the song for the next few weeks, then record the vocals, then produce those. I should be on schedule with my original projected release date of early Jan. I also finally found a good software Sampler (Sample Cell by Digidesign which is amazing) and will be using that in this track.  The previous songs have not used a sampler, just audio tracks and electronic keyboards (though there is a very fine line between audio tracks and sampling).  I plan on using the sampler for some excellent choir samples (Spectrasonic's Symphony of Voices, the makers of Vocal Planet which I used on my Public Enemy remix).  I also plan to use it to manipulate the vocals.  To best illustrate some of the mood of the song, take a look at this flash movie. Though, the mood is represented by the photos not the music (which is not my music by the way). This only represents half the story by the way.

Click below to access the movie.

http://oboylephoto.com/state_hospital/sh_Movie_no_so.html

Also, I found some very cool flash music videos by one of my favorite artists, Mike Patton.  He has a side project called Fantomas. The music Fantomas makes is doing "sound tracks" to comic strips. The music makes much more sense when it is actually played while looking at a comic strip.  So, if this sounds interesting to you check out this link, I think it's brilliant.

http://www.ipecac.com/extras.php

Also, PressPlay (the first major label backed music subscription service owned by Universal who owns mp3.com) is finally scheduled to launch this month (we will see, it was supposed to launch in September).  This will hopefully be great news to me and all the other artists/labels in the world who are trying to make a career in the digital music space. For the past seven years, digital music has been passed around but no revenue has ever been generated to make it an alternative to the traditional CD for businesses.   PressPlay is supposed to change this, and hopefully it will.  By generating revenue on digital music, this will allow me to take my music to the next level and expand the Liquid Records catalogue. That's the idea anyway, we shall see.

Well, that's it for this month. Have a great Christmas and I will see you in 2002!

November 1, 2001

Hope everyone had a good Halloween! I sure did.  Lots of great costumes and everyone was in great spirits down here in Salt Lake City, UT.  After much thought, I scrapped Foolin' with Guitars.  I had a lot of the song done, but lost interest in its direction. Though it was turning into a pretty cool blues dance track, it just didn't feel natural.  Plus, I had pages of lyrics and ideas for my next track and just wanted to start work on that one. So, I did.  The track is tentatively titled "Static Space." This will be a track with vocals (Foolin' with Guitars was an instrumental).  I don't have a lot of it done, but as it looks right now this song will possess the following qualities:

1) The majority of the vocals will be in a lower key.  Live In Excess and Get To You were both written in a pretty high key. If I am getting the terminology wrong here I apologize, maybe I should be saying octave. Anyway, I haven't experimented much with singing low so I am going to see what I can come up with and hopefully it will sound decent.

2) This song will be sonically "fat." I am getting more experienced with layering  instruments and sounds so expect this song to have a large, fat sound to it.  Live In Excess and Get To You seem rather thin when I listen to them now. I want to avoid that.  Expect live digitally manipulated bass, electric guitars, and heavy live and digital drum sounds.

3) It won't be a dance song, but it will be written in some form of the pop format. Though, it will possess a lot of dark qualities, more "industrial" sounding. More like Live In Excess than Get To You.

4) Hopefully lyrically this song will be much better. Live In Excess didn't focus much on lyrics, and Get To You was written more about an idea than on personal feelings. I wrote about 8 pages of lyrics over the past two months, and I am going to try to pick out the best lyrics and use them in this next song.

5) I am going to include some sort of vocal samples in the song. Probably some soloist choir samples I have rather than tribal samples but it's too early to say.

So, that's the plan for the track. So far it has been a lot of fun to work on, and doesn't feel forced so I think it will turn out well. Expect a publishing date of early January. If I am lucky maybe I can publish it on  Jan. 01.

Well, while promoting my Public Enemy remix I ran into some other artists who also entered the contest. I even met the winner of the contest! Though his DJ name is Jeronimo Punx, his band name is Skorpion The Predator . He liked my remix and my music so well, he asked to download it, burn it, and distribute it in Buenos Aires, Argentina on a CD that includes his music and some music from other artists.  Nice eh?

Well, that's it for this month. Cya next month!

October 17, 2001

I know it's not the first of he month but I have great news!  Chuck D of Public Enemy wrote me back. He said my remix was great, to stay in touch for future remix jobs, and that I could use the remix for anything I want. So, now that I have the permission document in hand, expect to see "Public Enemy No. 1 (Tribal Trance Mix) here soon!

The results of the Public Enemy remix contest are in and unfortunately I lost. Damn. Oh well, it was a lot of fun and a good learning experience.  I have a lot of confidence in my remix still, so I am trying to secure publishing rights to it so I can publish it here.  The group who won is called "Jeronimo Punx" and you can download the track for free (at least right now) from www.slamjamz.com .  It's the featured download right on the front page.  It's a cool industrial dance remix of the song. Later.

October 01, 2001

Alright, it's the month of October!  This is my favorite month because it is the month of  Halloween, my favorite holiday. Expect next year at this time for Dimension Zero to release a Halloween instrumental.  I was thinking of writing one this year, but I don't feel as if I am ready yet.  It is very easy to make a bad Halloween song and probably pretty difficult to make a good one.  So, hopefully by next Halloween my skills will be up to the challenge.

Well, I still haven't heard from Public Enemy about the results of the remix contest.  Their web site (www.slamjamz.com) still says "Winners will be announced next week." It has said this for two weeks now.  The results were delayed because of the September 11 events and they appear to still be behind schedule. Or, maybe I lost and just haven't found out yet :). Either way, I will announce the results here when I find out here.

Last month was a difficult month. Though I didn't have anyone I know personally die or get injured, it still took quite an emotional toll on me and those close to me.  Along with everyone else, I was immersed in death and sadness.  The Internet, the television, the radio, followed me everywhere. I would go to 7-Eleven, the gym, anywhere, and I would hear the latest reports of the tragedy.   Along with these events, I had various personal issues which just added to it all and put me in a depressed state of mind.  I was supposed to be working on my latest project, "Foolin' with Guitars." This track is an up-beat, happy, dance track. Needless to say, I couldn't get myself motivated enough to push forward on this track. However, I did write about seven pages of lyrics last month which I plan to use on a future track that is more aggressive and dark.  I even considered scrapping "Foolin' with Guitars" and moving on to this darker track.  But, I am sick of being depressed and think working on a depressing song right now wouldn't help. So, I am going to continue and push forward with FWG.  I have also decided to speed up the rate at which I release tracks.  Right now I don't feel as if I am moving fast enough.  By taking a few months to release a track, I don't get more creative, I get lazy.  This became apparent to me when working on the Public Enemy remix.  I only had two months to finish it.  I worked on it like crazy for those two months and out of that work came my best track to date in my opinion.  So, I am going to try to release a track about every two months from now on and see how it goes.  Expect FWG to be published by early December.

Mp3.com made it possible for artists to donate their earnings directly to the Red Cross. Because of this, some of you may have noticed my message on my main page encouraging you to listen to songs to increase the amount donated.  Well, mp3.com just announced as of October 1st they are going to reduce royalties down to 1/2 cent per download.  Artists have to pay $20 a month to mp3.com just to be eligible for royalties. This means I would have to get 4,000 downloads a month just to break even.  This is about 6 times lower then they were originally paying.  So, since I don't get 4,000 downloads a month I am not going to pay them $20 a month which means I am not eligible for royalties anymore. As of this writing listening to my songs will not generate any money so that ends my little fund raiser for the Red Cross.  It only lasted a week or so and we only made about $5, but that $5 will be donated of course.  Many mp3.com artists are very upset about the reduction.  I think it has something to do with PressPlay.  PressPlay is a new service that will roll out soon that allows mp3.com customers to pay a monthly fee and be able to download  major label and independent music. Artists will be reimbursed, and this will hopefully make it easier for artists to generate revenue.  I think it's just a matter of time before artists are making money on Internet distributed music again. When this happens, I will plan another fund raiser to help out those in need.

"Live In Excess" just entered the Mountain Top Ten at a music web site called BroadJam. BroadJam is a pretty well respected web site and was featured in Keyboard magazine last month. Songs get into the top ten by people (fans and people in the industry) rating them, not just by the number of plays the song gets.  So, I am pretty excited about this.  Who knows  what will come from it.  To view the Top Ten click the link below,

http://www.broadjam.com/top10

Thanks for following my efforts and I will see you next month.

September 05, 2001

Hello, I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend.  I usually try to write up the news by the 1st of the month, however, because of the holiday I was slacking a bit.  Anyway, I finished my remix of Public Enemy No. 1. I called this remix Public Enemy No. 1 (Tribal Trance Mix).  I finished it on the 23 of August, and mailed it to Slamjamz.com records for the Public Enemy remix contest.  There will be four winners (one for each song, Public Enemy published the vocal tracks of four songs to be remixed).  Each of those winners will get $1,000. Then, one of those winners will have their track selected to be on the next Public Enemy album and will be given a producer credit.  If I were to win, this could do huge things for Dimension Zero, so keep your fingers crossed.   The people who have heard the remix (mainly friends and family)  have been very happy with it. I am very happy with the results, and have been told it is  my most creative and best produced work to date.  Even people who hate rap like this remix because of the Drum N' Bass and Tribal influences. The last day to submit remixes was August 31st, and the winners will be announced prior to September 14, so I should find out soon.  After the contest, I hopefully will be able to publish the track here on mp3.com. I am going to email Chuck D after the contest about this.  So, by the next news update the track will hopefully be live on this site. I have everything ready to go.  Here is the description that I will be posting with the song:

Public Enemy No. 1 (Tribal Trance Mix)

Tribal Trance Rap. These three words can only partially describe the sound and blending of genres in this remix of a Public Enemy classic.  Released August 23, 2001. Vocal samples from various tribes over the world are fused together with the powerful rap vocals of Public Enemy.  Starting out slowly as an Electronica-fused Rap song, the track then takes flight hitting 145BPM mixing rap with Trance, Drum N’ Bass, and World sound landscapes.  104-145BPM.  6:12 in length.

Other than that, it's back in the studio to continue work on my next track "Foolin' With Guitars." Thanks for reading and hopefully I will come back with some good news. I will post the results as soon as I find out here.

August 01, 2001

Alright, another month down.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Once again, I am amazed and excited at the constant amount of traffic I get here on mp3.com.  A lot of people are downloading my tracks, and that makes me very happy.  Well, July was an interesting month.  I was on a plane to Vegas to attend the DefCon 9 conference, which is a very interesting computer "security" convention.  I picked up an issue of Rolling stone because it had Radiohead on the cover.  It was a good article.  If you like Radiohead, you should check it out.  Anyway, I saw a small advertisement for a remix contest for the group Public Enemy which was a project started by Chuck D.  I have been wanting to remix or work on a rap song for some time now, so I had to jump on this opportunity.  I postponed my other track, which I will start again in September.  I have been working on the remix for a month, and will have it done in three weeks.  The song is Public Enemy Number One, it's from the late 80s.  My remix is nothing like the original though most of the vocals are still in-tact.  I usually dislike remixes that contain only a few vocal clips, so I purposely included most of the vocals in the remix.  I am very happy with the result.  I can easily say it is by far the most original work I have done.  I have never heard a rap track like it.  Anyway, the winners for the contest will be announced mid September. I'm not expecting to win (though I won't complain if I do :) ).  I am remixing for the enjoyment and the learning process of it.  Since I am so happy with the results, I want to release it regardless of the contest outcome.  I emailed Public Enemy about this, and haven't heard back yet. Hopefully I will be able to post it on my mp3.com page, if not, I will make sure I have a link to it on here somehow.  So, in the next two and half months you can expect three new releases from Dimension Zero.  One Public Enemy remix, one new track, and a remix of  that new track.  Remember, if you want to be emailed on the day that a new track is published, sign up for the Dimension Zero  mailing list.

later,

July 02, 2001

Happy 4th of July ( two days early)!  I hope everyone is having a great holiday. Well, last month we passed the 10,000 visitor mark on the web site, that's since November of last year. That's a lot of people visiting my site so I would like to say again, thank you.  As for the new song, I am finally in a good creative rhythm and have a pretty good idea as to what this song will be. I scrapped the sound track idea, and scrapped the name "Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero." So, right now the new track is untitled. I will probably have a name for it next month.  I just wasn't happy with the direction the song was going, so I took the parts that I liked, stepped back, and came up with another strategy.   The best way to describe the new song is a vocal dubbed, blues influenced hip hop dance song.  As it stands right now, the song has acoustic guitar playing a blues riff over break beats and vocal samples.  It will still be instrumental , and will be a pretty long (around 6 minutes or so). However, I plan to release an edited version of it at the same time for those who prefer more of a short dance track.   The main bass of the song is based on the dominant-seventh chord shape, which is your classic blues bass. So, expect some traditional blues melodies mixed in a non-traditional way.  I might use some electric guitar, but right now the lead riffs are completely acoustic. For my birthday last month (June 10th) I was given an excellent sample CD from my family called "Vocal Planet."  It is very impressive and I will be using a lot of samples in this song from this CD.  Right now  I have some great rap/hip hop vocal samples, and some very cool blues singer samples.    I know a lot of artists have done blues sampled dance songs, but hopefully I will be able to do it in a way that will add something new and make it unique. Who knows. Either way, I plan to make this next song my most/best produced song to date, so, expect a lot of attention to detail and some great sounds.  I plan to finish this song near the end of August, and release it either late August or (more than likely) early September. Have a great July and see you in August! Thanks for taking the time to read my news.

June 01, 2001

Hello! Well, this is going to be a short update this month because not much has happened during May.  Get To You and Live In Excess are both getting a lot of support from the fans, doing well in the charts, and my mailing list is getting larger, so, thank you for the support! It makes all the long hours worthwhile.  "Johnny Cypher in Dimension Zero" is moving along nicely, and promotion for the previous tracks is doing well.  I am working on the song Mon-Thursday, and spending my Fridays promoting. So, if you hang out on Napster, Aimster, or Audiogalaxy you might run into me on Friday.  I have had a lot of people say they are showing my songs to their friends, and playing them at parties. Thank you very much for the help! Well, I don't really have much more to say so see you next month.

May 01, 2001

It's already May, I can't believe it. Well, "Get To You" was released April 05 so it's been out for almost a month and has been doing very well.  It hit #1 on the mp3.com Groove Rock charts on April 09. It was downloaded or streamed 731 times. Not bad for the first month.

My next track is going to be significantly different than GTY or LIE. I have been wanting to do an instrumental for a long time now, so I am finally going to do one.  I enjoy a lot of house, trance, and other DnB music, but usually I get bored with a lot of it.  Though this next track will have a lot of these influences, it won't be your standard trance song and it won't be boring.  This is the first song I am going to release that hasn't had a demo of some sort behind it. That said, I cannot really tell you what the final result will be. However, I like to base my songs on certain concepts. Check the song stories or song descriptions of my other tracks for their concepts. Here is the concept for my next track:

1) It will be primarily instrumental. There might be some vocals but probably not many if there are.

2) It will be between 7 to 8 minutes long, almost as long as my two previous tracks combined.

3) The track will be written like a soundtrack, but rather than being based on a movie it will be based on a script that I write.  The song will follow four different scenes in the script, each one being roughly two minutes long (4 scenes x 2 minutes long each = about 8 minutes). I will probably post this script in the song story section of the new track if it's presentable.

4) The track will not be ambient. It will be up-beat, rock influenced, and stick to my overall sound of "Rock N' Roll meets Drum N' Bass." I haven't written the script yet, but my initial ideas are of a script than involves a bunch of people hitting the town late Friday night and the experiences they have that night. So, that said, this track should sound like party music.

Though the song will be quite long, following this framework should keep it very interesting.  Expect a lot of rock guitar, lots of hooks, and a very well produced track.  I am constantly trying to keep my music interesting by changing the formula with each song. Though I don't want each song to sound like the other, I do want there to be a constant thread to my sound. What this means is I won't be doing jazz or country music just to give a lot of variety. I want to stay within the realm of a dance and rock music but go as far as I can to each end of that sound spectrum to keep the music fresh.

Alright, so now that you know what the framework of the song is, I am going to give you the tentative title for the track.  "Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero." Now you know why I didn't give you the name first :).  This is the name of a rare 1960s cartoon.  I found this while surfing the Internet and I have never heard of this cartoon before. Here is the description of the series posted on the Internet:

Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero made it's debut in February, 1967. It told the tales of Johnny Cypher, a brilliant Earth scientist who acquires superhuman powers. The powers enable him to travel through the dimensions of inner-space and combat sinister forces. There were 130 episodes, each six-minutes in length. Voices were provided by Paul Hecht (Johnny Cypher), Corrine Orr (as Zena, his female assistant) and Gene Allen (as the galactic being, Rhom). Among the strange worlds that they visited were Volcos, the Red Forest, the frigid Arctic and the Planet of the Little Men. Episodes included "Terror in the Toy Shop", "The Hidden Peril", "The World of Lost Men", "The Runaway Rocket", The Door to the Future", "The Invisible Beam", Seeds of Chaos", Giganticus Serum", Liquifier Gun", "Barclay's Bullet", "Rhom, Super Criminal", "Attack From Out of Space", "The Menace of Maroo", "The Eye of Ramapoor", "The Deafening Sound of Silence" and "The Multiplier Gun".

I already had the concept for a "soundtrack" song before I found this, so I thought it would fit perfectly.  We'll see.  Though the track will not be following a script from this cartoon I thought it was a cool name.  It even has a theme song with it but the copy I have is so poor I'm not sure if it will be sampled in the song or not. To view the clips of the old series, or to hear the theme song, visit this link:

 http://www2.wi.net/~rkurer/cypher.htm

If anyone has more information on this series please email it to me.  I would love to watch an episode. That's it for this month. Check back next month to see how the song is going. I will write about it here.

April 01, 2001

Happy April Fools day! "Get To You" is now finished, artwork and everything. However, due to some technical problems (my CD writing software copy protection disk going bad just before the last mix) I was not able to produce a great quality mp3 file and upload it before the end of March. I apologize for this delay.  However, Digidesign is FedExing me a replacement disk which I should have by Tuesday the 3rd. Once I get this, I will create and rip the CD and upload it to mp3.com.  So, it will be up very soon.   I did upload the cover artwork however which you can find by clicking on the photo tab link if you are curious. I also uploaded the "Live In Excess" artwork as well. I plan on uploading all my artwork in the future because I don't think the thumbnail graphic is good enough.

I would like to say many thanks to my girlfriend Jenni for helping me get the best arrangement possible on "Get To You."

I would also like to say many thanks to Brian Hazard of Color Theory and 11th Records for donating his professional advice which helped me get a great mix on "Get To You." Not only is he a great musician, if you need a project mastered, he does excellent work for a great price. Just click on the link above to read about his services and rates and tell him "Dimension Zero" sent you.

So far the feedback has been quite positive on the new track.  Here is what Brian's initial reaction was to it via email:

"Really cool song! It has an Oasis vibe with modern production. To my ears, this is a giant leap forward from the last track I heard (Live In Excess). You've got a winner "hit single" here!"

Thanks again for being patient and the track will be up ASAP.

March 01, 2001

Hello again.  "Get To You" is completely written, recorded, and produced.  All that needs to be done is the mixing, mastering, and art work. It will go live on the site this month, probably earlier than later.  To be notified via email when this happens click here.  I am quite pleased with the result, and I hope you will be as well.  It is a lot more experimental (for a Pop song) than "Live In Excess" was in my opinion.  After the track goes live, I will be doing a lot of "grass-roots" promotion.  "Live In Excess" was promoted %100 on the Internet. This time I will be hitting the streets.   I will be taking a week road trip and going to every dance club at 2:00am between Utah and Las Vegas passing out "Get To You" promo flyers as people are leaving.  So, if you live anywhere between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas and you see a guy passing out Dimension Zero flyers, then it's probably me.

An A&R rep at www.peoplesound.com has invited Dimension Zero to be on their web site with the release of my next track.  So, once I release "Get To You" you will be able to find Dimension Zero on Peoplesound.  This month Dimension Zero  has also been invited and added to www.elinemusic.com, www.javamusic.com, and www.avantnoise.com.

See you next month.

February 01, 2001

Hello everyone. It's February already, I can't believe it.  January was another exciting month on mp3.com.  But first, I'm going to write about what's going on with my latest track "Get To You" and write about the current success of "Live In Excess" at the end.

The concept of "Get To You" is an overly romantic, cheery 60s-sounding love song that evolves into an electronic, guitar driven pop song. The process in doing this is writing the entire song as if it was a 60s rock song, then, take the second half of the song and try to turn it into something more interesting with digital technology. I have recorded most of the electric guitar, the acoustic drums, and will be recording the lead and backup vocals today and tomorrow.  It's currently written in a Rock/Pop format with 3 verses and 3 choruses but we will see what happens.  I am trying to finish up the song by the end of this month or early next month. I will work as hard as I can to reach this goal and will keep you posted here.

"Live In Excess" will be featured on the one-hour Chart-bound pop radio show hosted by Randy Dewitt for one week starting February 5th. This station is broadcasted on commercial radio all around the country. Click the link below to see if it's available in your area.

http://radio.mp3.com/genres/pop.html

If the show does not broadcast in your area, the show will be available for download for one week starting February 12th here:

http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/118/popmp3com_radio.html

I am very excited about this and will keep a copy of my first radio airplay. If you want a copy of this after mp3.com has removed it off their site, send me an email through the contact tab.

Last month "Live In Excess" was downloaded or listened to 347 times.  It will be interesting to see what radio airplay does to these numbers.

I would like to thank the following station managers for picking up "Live In Excess" last month.

A Treasure Chest, E.T. Winter GrooveSpace+, Oh, Oh, Oh, POP - RADIO, DJ Hitchhiker,

,))) Electronic Dance Radio (((,[ wild mood swings : 02 ]

If you have a minute please check out these stations and support the DJs and artists to keep them going. You will discover some great new music! Mp3.com rotates their station list every day, and only shows 40 in the station list, which is all I have access to. So, if you featured me on your station but are not listed here I apologize. Many artists on mp3.com are trying to get mp3.com to put an entire list of every station their song is on in the station section.

That's it. See you next month.

January 09, 2001

Happy New Year!  First, I would like to welcome and thank fellow artists and fans.  You have made Dimension Zero's first month on mp3.com a very exciting one. With the release of Dimension Zero's first single "Live In Excess (Excess Is Best)" we had a total of 1178 listens (People downloading or streaming the song) from the dates of 11/16/2000 to 1/06/2001.  "Live In Excess" hit #27 on the mp3.com Pop chart's on 12/14/2000.  "Live In Excess" stayed in the top 40 for a week, and as of yesterday we are at 365 and have been floating around there for a while.  For those of you who missed us during those dates, that was when we were holding our yearly charity drive. All money made from "Payback for playback" and DAM sales will be donated to the Motley Fool's Foolanthropy drive.  This charity raised over $800,000 last year! This money is then donated to various charities picked by the Motley Fool community. To read more about it, check out www.fool.com/foolanthropy. For those of you who do not know what the Motley Fool is, check out www.fool.com, it's an excellent personal money management and investment site.  This was our first year doing this, and we raised $39.13. Though this isn't very much, the fact that it was raised by people listening to free music is quite exciting.  The Motley Fool was very supportive of our drive. David Gardner (Co-Founder of the Motley Fool) wrote me a great note of thanks and encouragement. The Foolanthropy coordinator (Julieta Stack) also announced what we were doing on the Foolanthropy message board and was very friendly. We also made plans for the drive next year.  Next year, we will have a lot more tracks, digital music will hopefully be more profitable (once the Napster issue along with other issues are resolved) and we will be able to generate a lot more money for this charity!

The station managers at mp3.com have also been very supportive of our efforts last month. Currently "Live In Excess" is featured on the following 42 Internet "radio" stations.

If you have a minute please check out these stations and support the DJs and artists to keep them going. This is a great way to listen to music you never have heard of before. In the past month I have learned about dozens of great bands I would not have found otherwise. These DJs rotate songs regularly so by the time you read this the list may have changed. For a more recent list click on the stations tab on my web page.

Dimension Zero is currently in the studio working on their next single "Get To You." I will be updating the news each month, so check back to keep up to date. Well that's all for this month. See you next month.
